Little things in life can make a lasting impression.

A city is built around such milestones—moments and traditions that benefit not only the artists and artisans, but the community as a whole. Each region has its own deep-rooted culture, traditions, and habits that give it a unique identity.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of street vendors disappeared from the streets. Since we do a lot of photography, we began noticing that many of these familiar groups of people were no longer there. Instead, we saw dull, empty, and lifeless streets. Street businesses had disappeared.

Unfortunately, no one seemed to talk about them.

Today, many people remain reluctant to eat or shop from street vendors, even though these small businesses are an important part of our city’s character and culture.
